“the whole point of being an artist is to be creative and to create, to invent new ways of seeing and showing the world.”

With regards to my journey in to abstraction, I wanted to create a new language of working, using materials mixed with colours and forms. I wanted to treat each canvas as a physical object, using rivets to hold the different layers of canvas together to give a tension to the form. Abstraction is a new way of working for me and I found it best to enter it with the mindset of a child having fun with different materials and how they play against each other.
